Handmade Soaps Are Actually Soap
Most of the soap you purchase today is a commercially manufactured chemical blend of ingredients. Supermarket or drug store body bars, body washes, cleansing bars etc., are nothing more than detergents...Eww...
This is what the FDA has to say about them, "Today there are very few true soaps on the market. Most body cleansers, both liquid and solid, are actually synthetic detergent products. Detergent cleansers are popular because they make suds easily in water and don't form gummy deposits. Some of these detergent products are actually marketed as "soap" but are not true soap according to the regulatory definition of the word."
Our Handmade Soaps Are Moisturizing
Our handmade soaps are made with plant oils and butters. Unlike their store bought counterparts, that are mostly detergents, our handmade soaps are "superfatted." The "superfatting" process is done by adding in extra fats (oils and butters) so that there is more fat in the mixture than the lye can react with. This leaves a portion of the unincorporated oils in the finished soap, ensuring that our bars have a higher concentration of moisturizing qualities.
Our Handmade Soaps Provide a Richer Lather
Who doesn't love a good lather? Am I right? Unfortunately, with big store soaps, they too have suds for days. That's because their ingredients include synthetic foam boosters, lathering agents and (more) detergents. These products end up drying out your skin. Properly formulated and cured bars of handmade soap don't need synthetic additives to create the lather we all love. Natural ingredients like coconut oil and castor oil (just two of the ingredients we use) retain natural glycerin which helps to create not only a great lather, but a silky moisturizing feel.

Slip your favorite bar of Red Apron soap into the pocket, fold down the top to hold it in place, get it wet and start washing! Once you're done, hang to dry for tomorrow's use or remove your soap and toss it in the laundry to reuse another day!
